Vit K injection at birth, and what I’ve seen in my Homeopathic practice

Vitamin K Injection at Birth and what I've seen in my Homeopathic practice.

The vitamin K shot given at birth is often seen as a routine and harmless “vitamin,” but it’s more than that. According to the product monograph, the pediatric formulation contains:

Phytonadione (1 mg)

• Polyethylene Glycol-15-Hydroxystearate (7%)

• Propylene Glycol (2%)

• Water for Injection

That’s right — it contains PEG (Polyethylene Glycol).

What is PEG?

PEG is a synthetic chemical compound derived from petroleum. It’s commonly used in products like:

• Antifreeze

• Brake fluid

• Acrylic paints

• Shoe polish

• Solvents and thickeners

It’s also found in laxatives like Miralax, Restoralax, and Movicol under the form PEG 3350.

Concerning Facts About PEG 3350:

• The OpenFDA database has reported 210,600 adverse events linked to PEG 3350 laxatives like Miralax.

• PEG 3350 is a petroleum microplastic.

It’s not FDA-approved for children and is only intended for short-term adult use (7 days). Yet, it’s often prescribed off-label to children for months or even years.

• PEG 3350 can disrupt the gut microbiome, eliminating beneficial bacteria that may take up to a year to recover.

• Many parents report adverse effects in their children, including:

• Seizures

• Tremors

• Tics

• Anxiety

• Lethargy

• Aggression

• OCD behaviors

• Paranoia

• Metabolic acidosis

What do a vitamin K shot containing PEG, and PEG-based laxatives have in common? The connection is clear to myself and many colleagues.

After receiving the vitamin K injection, many newborns experience:

• Difficulty latching

• Colic

• Reflux

• In rare cases, seizures — often dismissed by doctors.

Given what we know about the effects of PEG in laxatives, it’s not surprising that a PEG-containing vitamin K injection could lead to gut disruption and compromised intestinal barriers.

An alternative to the Vit K injection is to ask for the oral dose.

What Can Be Done via Homeopathy?

In cases where vitamin K injection side effects are suspected, a vitamin K clear using Tautopathy can often help. You may recognize this as Homeopathic Detox Therapy or CEASE Therapy.

Many of the children I work with have had wonderful improvements in the digestive symptoms following this clear.

As always, consult with a homeopath for the best care for your child.
